Behavior and Conduct Expected on our Social Media Pages

Sonoran Dawn has had some recent incidents of belligerent and destructive individuals over a difference of opinion. To that end, we have had to create a healthy boundary of behavior that we expect from our audience.

If you do not like a point of view shared by one of our writers or artists, then write a coherent, well cited, and well written article on why your point of view is correct and submit the piece like everyone else has to do.

There is absolutely NO excuse to create a hostile writing environment, which has happened by a discordant group of Social Justice Warriors. It is unfortunate for people who force inclusion on others but exclude anyone else's point of view who doesn't fit into their limited schema.

Rules of engagement for our social media accounts:
  • If you report posts because you disagree, you will be banned/blocked.
  • If you throw a temper tantrum and disrupt our normal operations, you will be banned/blocked.
  • If you are verbally abusive or threatening, you will be banned/blocked.
  • If you disagree but act like an adult, then we can have an open, honest, and frank discussion.
These are simple rules of etiquette to follow when you are a guest on someone else's page. Sonoran Dawn is a disabled, woman/minority run operation. That fact has been ignored in order for some to throw their weight around and offer no tangible content in return, but hate-filled abuse.

The list of people who Sonoran Dawn Studios had to ban/block this afternoon from its Facebook page numbered around 15-20  individuals with more to come. None of the subtractions saw any number of deletions from our core following.

That means Sonoran Dawn was attacked by outside groups of Social Justice Warriors.

Since November 2013, the Villa de Paz Gazette has been publishing independent, research articles and opinion pieces without one uproar. The VDP Gazette had a submissions page up for over three years but was never used.

Similarly, Sonoran Dawn Studios has repeatedly asked for poetry and book anthologies, current events and political articles, as well as art submissions. Since May of 2016, our current list of creators and anthology are all who have submitted to this publisher.

Sonoran Dawn stands by all journalistic and nonfiction pieces that are intellectually honest, but we do not tolerate threats. If you do not engage with Sonoran Dawn Studios regularly (liking, commenting, and submitting) but are all too offended recently, then you are simply an agent of chaos and are unwelcome to disrupt our daily operations.

Disagreeing is fine. Violence and harassment are not tolerated especially against a disabled woman.

If you need professional counseling, please seek it.

Thank you.

Twitter Refused Sonoran Dawn Studios an Account

That was abrupt. Sonoran Dawn is run by a disabled woman and she does not have cellular service. So after one posting on Twitter, the company decided that the welcome message was in violation of their rules of conduct and locked Sonoran Dawn out of her account.

Big Tech in Silicon Valley needs a course correction from the federal government. A birthdate nor a phone number are identifying traits. The internet and many technologies used by Silicon Valley were first paid for and discovered by the American people through secret programs like DARPA and iARPA.

Silicon Valley needs a wake up call, not a pat on the back from Congress. The American people have the right to the public square in their home towns or on the internet. We paid for this technology. We should be able to use it without interference.

No one needs my name, phone number, or anything else for me to enjoy a service that has been already paid for through taxation over more than three generations of our families.

This situation is blatant censorship and data mining and it has got to end. No one owes a corporation a free lunch, especially at the cost of our freedoms, rights, and privacy. If Silicon Valley cannot do business by American values, then we need to break their monopolies up so they no longer have a choke hold on Americans.

So Sonoran Dawn will remain on Minds, Gab, and Facebook.

Check out our links on the menus to the right.

Thank you.

Degrees of Illness

As many of our readers know, I am disabled by a terrible illness.

This illness has left me unable to do most things especially attend college courses. With my neurological issues, the stress of taking a class would be too much for me right now. As summer begins, I find myself longing to accumulate more knowledge, take a course, and attain more degrees.

Wishes, but I realized after looking at college websites that I am beyond capable of doing what I once loved.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed with impotence, I have decided that I should write a book on every subject that I would like a degree in: history, science, literature, just to name a few.

Just because I am stuck in a disabled rut does not mean I should give up my dreams... but to redefine them.

Do you have any dreams or aspirations you need to redefine?

Have a really weird day!
