Coming up on Five Years of Publications, Sonoran Dawn Takes Our Studio to the Next Level

We did it!

Five years this month on the 31st, Sonoran Dawn Studios publishes it's first PDF. Since then, we have published art, shirts, daily essentials, chapbooks, research essays, blogs, and novels.

We have come a long way.

Every quarter we have a book event or party to celebrate authors and artists across the spectrum.

This year we are upping our game.

We are going to purchase our own ISBNs! As soon as our account is done, we will be able to publish from us... finally. It has been a long road, but we are almost to the finish line.

That is our great news.

We hope this information makes you as happy as it has to all of us.

Thank you!

Sonoran Dawn

Our Menu has Changed

Since the addition of new products and services, Sonoran Dawn created a new tab: All Our Stores.

This tab now lists the links to our various ebook publications, physical products, and creative services.

Listing our expansion would be too cumbersome for our regular menu to the right.

So we devised a shorthand version for the menu with a nice reminder to: Visit All Our Stores.

We hope this makes visiting our site more enjoyable and navigable.

22 Years of Publishing Experience

Over the years, our President and CEO, DL Mullan has published articles, essays, poems, and chapbooks. She has been a powerhouse publisher in print since the mid-1990's and online with websites since 1998.  In either medium, publishing has been more than a hobby or passion; publishing is in her blood.

While going through boxes of personal memorabilia, her first editorial and publishing debut for a Slam Poetry artist was found. DL Mullan's personal copy of Mental Recipes for the Perfect Psychosis by Porkchop Jones from January 1995 looked as new as the day it was printed out.

So in one form or another, DL Mullan has been in the publishing business for over 22 years.

Sonoran Dawn Studios is proud to have Ms. Mullan at the helm of our company. We will soon be opening our publishing house to other authors, poets, and artists with creative and original anthology themes seen nowhere else.

Publishing is in the Seasoning

As we ponder our 2017 release schedule, we realize that autumn, winter, and spring are the book buying seasons, but we also want to publish in the summer too.

The publishing business can be fickle. What is en vogue now, may not be later. So what does a small publisher do? Keep the titles flowing, of course!

As we head into the winter season... December 21st is not that far away... we would like to release titles that go with the seasons. In the Name of Blood and The Descent were great for autumn. That Halloween theme is so popular.

For winter 2017, Sonoran Dawn likes the thought of people cuddleh up by the fire, with blankets and puppies and hot cocoa, oh my!

And, probably some zombies....

Adding Tentpoles to Publishing Links

Sonoran Dawn has created and is now linked to the Author Spotlights for each of our other sites:

Sonoran Dawn - ASafePlace
Sonoran Dawn - GeoRangers
Sonoran Dawn - Undawnted
Sonoran Dawn - VDPGazette

As we grow, our publications will continue to be cross-released throughout our media platforms.

Thank you for your support.

Looking Ahead to 2017

We have been making our own list (and checking it twice!) on what our publishing house would like to do in the coming new year.

Would our readership like to see more essays, short stories, poetry, and/or novels?

Would you like to see us offer anthologies?

Or, something else?

Sonoran Dawn Studios has a variety of options in our library to publish for next year, but we would like to hear what you want us to do in addition. So post your comment in our Facebook page where this update will be posted.

We welcome your input!

Have a really weird day.

Menu Elements Updated

To keep with the ever expanding world of Sonoran Dawn, the top Menu bar was updated.

Now readers and visitors will be able to see more of what is coming up in the next year.  Designs and Finds has some mugs and office accessories already available with brand artistry. Zines, Photos, and Comics will round out the publications we would like to begin offering soon.

Our Schedule is now on the Menu to the right.

Remember to Download Our Essays and Books

All good things must come to an end and so will our freebies.

Bummer, right? Well you do have some time. The Descent will be free until October 1, 2016 with our other publications (except the EI Series) becoming fee oriented at the first of the new year.

In the Name of Blood will be free from October 16th, its debut, until October 31, 2016 at 11:59pm.

Soon print publications of our fantastic and popular books, essays, recipes, and poetry collections will follow.

If you do download and read any of our publications, please be sure to leave us positive feedback!

The End of Summer

Autumn is here tomorrow!

Another three quarters of a year have gone by. That was quick....

We will be publishing a novel, another essay, and possibly a few more items. So hold on to your hats. This autumn is sure to blow you away.

Have a really weird day!

Making the Right Size Choices

When publishing a novel or chapbook, there is a general standard size one can use.

What if you want to be original, artistic, or if the information is extensive? Would a coffee table book be appropriate?

Publishing is a course in research and development. Marketing skills application. College post exam. Artistic expressionist experiment.

Publishing is also trying to be modern and stylistic while being traditional and simplistic. Cannot confuse people. Cannot be boring either.

That is why we publish in the 6X9 inch range. Small but not too small. Large but not too large. The publication has enough room for great cover art as well as white space needed to make books not feel cramped.

How do you like your publications?

Publication Week for August

This week Sonoran Dawn will be releasing a few publications for your perusal.

Already a recipe has been placed for download on our Author Spotlight in Nonfiction on Lulu. Soon another type of nonfiction will be available: Haunted Arizona. The travelogue will feature four destinations with a unique perspective coming from a paranormal sensitive and enthusiastic.

So enjoy the dog days of summer with a hint of autumn spookiness.

And, of course, have a really weird day!

Get Your Motor Running

This summer of 2016 has been a busy one.

So far Sonoran Dawn has published ten Nonfiction selections. We will add poetry and fiction with The Descent and In the Name of Blood. We will close out the year with the essay: Religion is Like Owning a Haunted House.

Then we will be compiling a new list of publications for 2017.

Busy Making Plans

We have worked to expand our schedule.

Undawnted has added sections like Spiritual Quest, Food and Recipes. Sonoran Dawn has published then had to revamp our novel publication schedule, dates overlapped too much. Now it is fixed.

We will have our 2017 schedule out in December of this year. We still plan on publishing more articles and research essays as well as a chapbook and novel for diversity of interest.

So thank you for Google+ hits and sharing links to our publications. We truly appreciate the support for our efforts.

Schedule for 2017, What would You like to See?

We have six months before the new year begins.

2016 started off with a negative patch but now has surpassed our expectations. We have Sonoran Dawn up and running. We are publishing. Everything looks great!

So for 2017, we wanted to keep the positive momentum going. We asked ourselves: what would you like to see? More art? poetry? fiction novels?

Sonoran Dawn is working on publishing something every month except June and December. These months will be promotional and rebuilding months. Sometimes even the most creative people need a break. These two months are ours.

2017 is sure to be another expansive year for the author and artist, DL Mullan. Her goals are to publish a novel and chapbook every year (Undawnted) in addition to writing articles for the VDP Gazette, creating artwork and cover art for her books (VSP), websites, plus she wants to be accepted into more anthologies.

We are diligently working to have a publication schedule that is informative, educational, and entertaining.
